Welcome to the Garden where Science Meets Magic. I am Barry Kirsch—a journalist with 48+  years of experience, a Florida Master Gardener, and the guardian of a very special secret. From my new home in Riga, Latvia, I invite you to step into Restoration Cottage, a world dedicated to the mission of restoring our earth through "curiosity without fear". It began with a lightning strike to an English Elm tree in my Florida garden. That strike opened a portal through time, bringing 56 antique robots from 19th-century England into our modern world. These are the Fairy Robots—5.5-inch tall gardeners built by fairies and infused with magic. They are 184 years old, made of repurposed metal, and they are vulnerable. They cannot repair themselves, and as they age, they rust. They depend on us as much as we depend on them to teach us the secrets of sustainable gardening. Why Subscribe?
